The CLIB-Graduate Cluster Industrial Biotechnology offers several 3 year PhD scholarships in its structured doctoral programme.
This is a joint initiative of Bielefeld University, the Technical University of Dortmund and the Heinrich-Heine University of Düsseldorf. All are located in NRW, the most populous state of Germany with an excellent research and industrial infrastructure.

Doctoral candidates will join top research labs working both on applied and basic research, take part in key qualification courses and yearly retreats, and join a company for a 3-month industrial internship. They will receive a stipend of 1500 EUR per month.
Research projects span the range of industrial biotechnology and are available in the following areas:
Polyomics,
Expression,
Biocatalysis,
Downstream processing
.

We invite excellent graduates with a M.Sc./M.A. or Diploma in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioinformatics, biochemical or chemical engineering (or related disciplines) to apply. Students who will graduate before 30 Sept 2010 are also encouraged to apply.

Beasiswa dari pemerintah Jepang atau Monbukagakusho untuk program research student 2011/2012 telah dibuka pada Senin (12 April 2010) dan akan ditutup pada 12 Mei 2010 mendatang.

Program beasiswa ini ditujukan khusus mereka yang berminat dalam program research student di perguruan-perguruan tinggi di Jepang. Beasiswa ini diberikan tanpa ikatan dinas, dengan skema beasiswa yang mencakup biaya kuliah dan biaya hidup.

      Pada waktu menjalani research student, peminat juga diperbolehkan melamar ke program degree (S-2/ S-3/professional graduate course) atau meneruskan langsung ke program S-3 setelah menyelesaikan program S-2/professional graduate course, apabila lulus seleksi tes ujian yang diberikan oleh universitas yang bersangkutan.

Selain itu, peminat juga dapat langsung masuk ke program degree tanpa mengikuti research student jika telah mendapatkan izin dari universitas yang bersangkutan.

Selain berusia minimal 34 tahun  dan IPK minimal 3.0 dari tingkat perguruan tinggi terakhir (atau nilai EJUminimal 260 dalam jumlah 2 mata ujian tidak termasuk Bahasa Jepang), peminat harus memiliki nilai TOEFL-PBT minimal 550 atau TOEFL-CBT minimal 213 atau TOEFL-IBT minimal 79 atau ekuivalen, atau nilai Japanese Language Proficiency Test minimal level 2.

The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) “The Exploration of Ecological Interactions with Molecular and Chemical Techniques” in Jena, Germany, offers 6 PhD fellowships beginning in January 2009. The research focus is on plant-herbivore interactions, and other ecologically relevant relationships are also investigated.
The IMPRS gives doctoral students the possibility to prepare for their doctoral degree in a 3-year structured program providing excellent research conditions. The degree will be granted by the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena. The courses of the IMPRS are held in English.

Students holding a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in molecular biology, ecology, bioinformatics, entomology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry neuroethology or bioinformatics from any national and international university with a proven record of success in one of the relevant disciplines and being interested in examining traits of ecological interactions are eligible to conduct a doctoral project within the IMPRS.
