A PhD position is available for a research project on the dissection of the neuronal circuits controlling central pain for students with a strong background in Neuroscience or Molecular Biology. Candidates should be highly enthusiastic and motivated to learn new techniques and contribute to new experiments.
Our group is interested in understanding specific neuronal cell populations and their ionic currents in defined neuronal circuits in the mouse nervous system. We use novel genetic methods to manipulate ionic currents in vivo in combination with electrophysiology and behavioral approaches.
The research work will be conducted at the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin, Germany, within the framework of the MolNeuro Research PhD School. The position is available from September 2009
